In three years, public cloud spending will double. Let’s have a look at which trends will drive the cloud ecosystem.

In the next few years, cloud usage will become more widespread. CloudTech says that public cloud spending is expected to grow from US$229 billion in 2019 to US$500 billion in 2023, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 22.3%. In 3 years, public cloud spending will double. Let’s have a look at which trends will drive the cloud ecosystem.

Serverless computing

Serverless computing is a method of providing backend services on an as-used basis. Servers are still used, but developers do not need to be aware of them. A serverless provider allows users to write and deploy code without the hassle of worrying about the underlying infrastructure. The provider dynamically allocates only the compute resources and storage needed to execute a particular piece of code.

In terms of benefits, developers can focus on the business goals of the code they write without the hassle of worrying about the underlying infrastructure. Organizations only pay for the compute resources they actually use. Overall, serverless computing lowers costs, offers simplified scalability, and simplified backend code.

Hybrid cloud

Hybrid cloud is an IT infrastructure that provides orchestration, management, and application portability between public and private clouds that it connects. Hybrid cloud enables users to create a single, flexible, optimal cloud infrastructure for running a company’s computing workloads.

The number of companies using hybrid cloud has increased only %6 between 2018 and 2019. This year, with the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of hybrid cloud has witnessed big growth. Hybrid cloud market is expected to reach a value of USD 1.052.34 trillion by 2024, according to IndustryResearch’s report. The cloud sector has been discussing the growing demand for hybrid cloud computing, focusing on its functions and multiple advantages, from efficiency to safety.

Containers and Kubernetes

The usual standard for application development in the public cloud for many years has been the containers with its build today and always use formula. the orchestration tools in the container can be automatically managed, deployed, expanded, and networked.

IDC predicts that by 2021, 95% of new microservices will be deployed in containers along with Kubernetes. For now, the rise of Kubernetes has increased the use of private cloud containers. Gartner says that by 2023, most organizations will use more than two centralized applications.
